Rain fails to dampen spirits at first-ever Derbyshire Flower and Garden Show
Plans are already in place for a return to Bakewell in 2027
Hundreds of garden enthusiasts braved the rain for the first-ever Derbyshire Flower & Garden Show.

TV presenters Adam Frost, Jonathan Moseley and Charlie Dimmock, who rose to fame in the late-90s, held a Q&A with green-fingered guests in Bakewell, and visitors enjoyed floral displays, plant nurseries, artisan food and drink and expert demonstrations.
The two-day event, hosted by Mad Hatter Events – the company behind the popular Dog Lover’s Festival at Elvaston Castle – attracted gardeners of all levels and nature lovers alike.

Ruth Hattersley, director of Mad Hatter Events – which celebrates 10 years of event hosting in 2026 - said: “It has been a busy weekend and, despite the weather, we were delighted to see hundreds of people at our first-ever Derbyshire Flower & Garden Show in the historic market town of Bakewell.
Plans are already in place for a return to Bakewell in 2027 but for now, attention turns to organising the Shipley Country Park Autumn Food Festival and Christmas markets across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
