The Hillmen secured all three points at the Barton Stadium thanks to goals from David Young, Tom Bailey and Lee Morris.

The win was the perfect tonic after they opened their 2013-14 North West Counties Premier Division campaign with a tight defeat at home to Ashton Athletic three days previous.

At Winsford, manager Chris Willcock kept faith with the same starting eleven that suffered defeat on Saturday.

In a frantic opening it was the visitors who settled the quicker and it was defender Young who struck first, less than a quarter of an hour into the game, when he prodded home after getting the final touch to a corner.

North End went on to create the better chances for the rest of the first half but will have been disappointed not to have converted any before the break.

It took North End until the 72nd minute until they grabbed a second, although it wasn’t without controversy.

Bailey, who netted in the defeat to Ashton, again found the back of the net only for the linesman to judge that he was offside.

However, the referee deemed that the striker had been onside and overruled his assistant to give the goal.

With just over five minutes to go North End wrapped up a perfect evening thanks to Morris who bagged the third of the night.
