Something for all at fifth annual Oli Day

The fifth annual Oli Day in memory of Chapel-en-le-Frith man Oliver Everall will take place next month.

Oliver died in February 2007 after a car accident on the A6 near Lyme Park.

A keen sportsman, his family set up the Oliver Everall trust fund, money from which is distributed to local good causes and charities.

This year’s Oli Day eventtakes place on Sunday May 25 at Chapel Town’s football ground, Rowton Park. Running from noon until 5pm, the family fun day features a variety of attractions and events.

There will be an adults six-a-side football tournament with 12 teams competing, a bouncy castle, barbecue, beer tent, tombola, raffle and more.

In the evening, the entertainment will continue with live music, karaoke and discos in the Market Place’s pubs.

Twelve teams are needed for the football tournament with a minimum of six and a maximum of nine players per team. Games are eight minutes each way with roll on roll off substitutes. All teams must have paid the entry fee of £25 by May 16 to Andrew Hill, Chandlers Estates, 10-12 Market Place, Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Entry to the Oli Day is free but commemorative wristbands will be on sale for £2.

All proceeds from the day will go to the trust fund.
