Three former reservoir sites in Derbyshire will go under the hammer next week, with guide prices starting at £15,000.

Severn Trent Water is offering the sites, as well as two others in Worcestershire and Shropshire, for sale by online auction.

The first site is a redundant reservoir and land at Boam Lane, Hackney, Matlock. The freehold covered reservoir site sites in 0.51 acres (0.21 hectares) of land and has a guide price of £25,000.

A redundant reservoir and building on Bog Lane, Melbourne, is also up for grabs. This freehold covered reservoir site sits in 0.48 acres (0.19 hectares) of land. It is let to an individual on a licence, producing £1,200 per annum. Guide price - £25,000.

The third site is at Melbourne Common Reservoir, The Common, Melbourne. The freehold covered reservoir site with vacant possession and comprising 0.28 acres (0.11 hectares) of land has a guide price of £15,000.

Oliver Childs, head of Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) Auctions, which is selling the sites through its online property portal, said: “Anyone can bid on our online platform without having to travel to an auction room or face the daunting prospect of bidding in public. You just need to register as a bidder on the site prior to the auction starting.

“The former reservoir sites are rurally located and in recent years, similar assets have been sold that have been converted to private dwellings. There is a continued shortage of development opportunities in the UK and these sites are ideal for entrepreneurial buyers.”
