Edale set to benefit from £340k water plan

Villagers in Edale are to benefit from a £340,000 investment to help make their water supply more reliable.

Severn Trent Water is set to install about three kilometres of new water pipes in the area.

The first phase of work will start on October 6 and the second phase of work will start on November 3, lasting until the middle of February next year.

Dave Kiernan, of Severn Trent Water, said: “We want to make sure our customers continue to receive a reliable supply.

“Unfortunately, the water pipes in Edale are now a bit old and have started to leak, which could lead to interruptions in the supply.”

The company has apologised to villagers for any disruption caused by the work.

A meeting on the plans is taking place at Edale Village Hall between 4pm and 7pm today.
