The new restrictions include a ban on different households mixing indoors in any setting – including private homes, pubs and gardens – unless you have formed a support bubble together.

This ban extends to hospitality, leisure and retail settings, so you cannot meet others at the cinema or a shopping centre.

You also cannot meet indoors with people outside of Derbyshire, unless exemptions apply, such as childcare for children under 14. ‘Childcare bubbles’ are limited to two households so care is provided by the same people each time.

Existing arrangements for contact between parents and children where the children do not live in the same household as their parents, or one of their parents, will remain in place.

Friends and family can also still provide informal childcare for children under 14 – but this must be part of a regular arrangement, and does not permit events like playdates or birthday parties.

Businesses, leisure facilities and other places which are allowed to open by law can remain open providing they meet COVID-19 secure guidance. But businesses selling food or drink on site must close between 10pm and 5am. Drive-through services, click and collect and delivery services can continue after 10pm.

If you are going on holiday, this should only be with your household or support bubble.

People can only visit care homes in "exceptional circumstances”.
