Buxton Opera House hosts nightclub comedy Bouncers

Produced by The John Godber Company and Theatre Royal Wakefield, the award-winning play tells the story of a night out on the town with the boys, the girls, the cheesy DJ, the kebab man and the taxi home, all under the watchful eyes of the Bouncers.

The production, which comes to Buxton Opera House on March 2 and 3, features actors Adrian Hood (Brassed Off, The Syndicate) as Judd, Frazer Hammill as Les, Robert Hudson (Red Riding, The Bill) as Lucky Eric and Theatre Royal Wakefield’s pantomime dame Chris Hannon (Lunch Monkeys, Being Sold, Topsy & Tim) as Ralph.

The contemporary classic has been performed all over the world in many different languages. Writer John Godber is a BAFTA award-winning playwright and is said to be the second most performed living playwright (Alan Ayckbourn is the first) in Britain.

Bouncers was first performed in 1977 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and since then it is estimated that the play has been performed at least eight times a year by repertory venues.

Performances of Bouncers start at 7.30pm in the Opera House. Tickets are priced at £14 and £17.
