Pumpkin-carrying pirates will be hiding in shop windows across Whaley Bridge, each holding part of a secret code. Young explorers collect a trail map, track down the pirates as they make their way around the village, and note down the code as they go. Once the code is complete, they can take it to one of the participating businesses to claim a prize.

Trail maps are available to pick up from Goyt Wines, Fernmoss Pet Supplies, Peartree Gift & Print, Ivie & Luxe and the Over the Road Charity Shop.

The adventure has been designed as a fun, free way for families to get out and about during the autumn half-term, discover more of the village, and support the independent shops that make Whaley Bridge special.

Emma Boardman, Manager of Over the Road Charity Shop, said: “The Whaley Bridge treasure trails create a fabulous buzz for children and their families, bringing lots of people in to the village “
