Cricket club defibrillator installed thanks to Buxton company
The outdoor defibrillator will also be of benefit to the New Mills Tennis and Bowls Clubs that play sport on the same site.
The cricket season is in full swing, and a new defibrillator has been installed at a High Peak cricket club.

New Mills Cricket Club now has an outdoor defibrillator, after they won a free-to-enter competition with Buxton online prize draw operator High Peak Comps.
The new defibrillator is located to the right of the club’s entrance, below the sign with public access, and can be viewed from the busy residential areas of Church Lane and New Street.

The outdoor defibrillator will also be of benefit to the New Mills Tennis and Bowls Clubs that play sport on the same site.
Buxton resident Charles Edwards, who owns High Peak Comps, paid for the defibrillator and its installation.
“Congratulations to New Mills Cricket Club for winning on the High Peak Comps Defibrillator wheel,” said Charles.
“As a former High Peak cricketer, I have fond memories of this ground and a defibrillator at the entrance of this historic club reinforces all the amazing work both High Peak Comps and New Mills Cricket Club does for the community.

“We hope this defibrillator never has to be used. But it is good to know it is there, thousands of people will drive past this defibrillator a day, and to have this on the site of three sports clubs is mega.
“This is the 14th defibrillator we have paid for the installation for, and we want to get to at least 30!
“Cheers to New Mills Cricket Club for being amazing to work with, we’ve also donated them an Air Fryer in exchange for High Peak Comps print material at the ground.”
The equipment was installed by Buxton electrician I D Electrical and Security.

New Mills cricketer Noah Smith is grateful for the donation.
“Thank you to High Peak Comps for the defibrillator,” said Noah.
“New Mills Cricket Club comprises eight senior teams and junior sides from Under 9s to Under 19s.
“Our next project at the club is to raise money to get new nets. And we are delighted to hear that High Peak Comps will pledge a prize towards our race night for it as well.”

The High Peak Comps Defibrillator Wheel is a free-to-enter contest, with the goal of installing at least 30 new outdoor defibrillators in the local area.
Giving back to the community is a core belief of the company - with over £120,000 given back to charity in 2025.
High Peak Comps is set to host their joint-record prize draw offering players a chance to win a £100,000 cash prize later this month.
