TECH TALK: Flash, bang, wallop - The Photography Show returns to NEC

Image makers, snappers and techno geeks will be in their element when The Photography Show returns to the NEC Birmingham, March 19 to 22.

Whether you are starting out or a seasoned pro, the event offers something for everybody interested in the visual world. Learn latest techniques, spark your imagination, hear from experts, find fantastic deals and get hands-on with the latest equipment from more than 200 exhibitors.

Visitors can buy and try kit from Canon, Adobe, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, Olympus, Fujifilm, Leica, Manfrotto, Blackmagic and Ricoh Imaging among others.

Legendary photographer David Bailey will give an intriguing insight into his career with a talk on the Super Stage. Other speakers include Chris Packham, Nick Danziger, Peter Dench, Alec Soth and Bruce Gilden.

There will be plenty of hands-on workshops and live demonstrations, focusing on everything from capturing challenging shots in different lighting, to darkroom coaching, photo-editing and learning what your mobile device can really capture.

Photographers looking to make the jump from enthusiast to professional can gain advice and knowledge, as speakers share the skills needed to make a successful business. Renowned landscape photographer Charlie Waite will offer tips on developing potential, while Michael Freeman will present a programme dedicated to photographers at the start of their journey.

Behind the Lens will see a range of professionals lead sessions covering everything from wildlife to travel, landscape to portrait. Ram Shergill, known for photographing public figures such as Amy Winehouse and Dame Judi Dench will give insight into working with designers in the fashionm world.

The Adobe Theatre returns to inform, engage and inspire. Thirty-minute sessions across the four-day event will explore ways photographers can process and edit photos.

The Student Programme is designed to educate, advise and inspire the next generation of talent. Sessions are on March 22, when entry to The Photography Show will be free to all students. Concessions available to students on other days.

The Mobile & Social Stage will explore social channels and mobile technology within photography. Sessions are on all four days of The Photography Show.

Tickets to the event are on sale at www.photographyshow.com and visitors will have the option to add additional sessions to their package, at £10 each
