New name and new owners for Chinley bar which will offer cocktails, small plates and Sunday roasts
A bar in Chinley has new owners, a new name and will be reopening in early August.
The venue previously known as The Cracken will be welcoming customers back to the new establishment known as The Green.
The new owners said on social media that they are ‘immensely excited’ about the venture for the Green Lane property.
“We are aiming to open early August after some minor background venue alterations

“We will be a versatile space, offering a great range of quality wines, high quality draught beers, fabulous freshly made cocktails and we will also be offering food, small plates, à la carte, Sunday roast, afternoon tea, cake and coffee, brunch, themed nights and live entertainment.”
Previously The Cracken had applied to extend its licence with High Peak Borough Council to 1am and this was rejected earlier in the year - much to the relief of local residents.
However the new owners are wiping the slate clean and ready to start again.
The venue, they said, is already beautiful, with so much hard work and money put in by the freeholder, it just needs an experienced and focussed operator and that’s where they come in.
“With over two decades worth of experience in hospitality and some local venues people may already be familiar with, we are thrilled to now have keys in hand after completion.”
Work has now begun on new signage, drinks as well as kitchen refurbishment work with the grand opening expected in August.
