Kettleshulme bridge wall collapses after vehicle crash
A bridge in Kettleshulme has been damaged following a road traffic collision.
Cheshire East Highways has shared photos of Reeds Bridge which was hit on Wednesday September, 9.
A council spokesperson said: “The north parapet of Reeds Bridge, on the B5470 Macclesfield Road in Kettleshulme has been damaged following a road traffic collision.
“Temporary two-way traffic signals are currently in place.”

The council say the road will be closed from 10am on Thursday September 10 whilst temporary safety barriers are installed.
The highways team said: “It will reopen before local schools finish for the day, two-way traffic signals will then be in place.
“Delays are likely, so please allow extra time for your journey and plan your route in advance.”
Motorists have already been putting forward thoughts and suggestions on how to improve the road.

On the highways page Marty Hill said: “The 30mph zone needs moving 200m past the junction for Bakestonedale Rd towards Bolshaw's.
“And better signage and road markings warning of a narrow bridge.”
Alex Baker agreed and said: “Can you please now listen to the villagers of Kettleshulme and install traffic lights over the bridge or at very least make it a 30mph zone?”
Jill Marshall said: “Wonder if it’s due to the wagons not using the Cat & Fiddle road, seen some near misses since it was shut.”

Vicky Blackwood was near the crash when it happened.
She added: “Looks like a bad RTC so hopefully everyone has walked away safely
“That bridge is not a pleasant one as the road narrows on it, always makes me anxious in that spot.”
