High Peak MP encourages community groups to bid for tree-planting funds

Community groups in the High Peak are being encouraged by their MP to apply for a share of a £10m pot to grow more trees.

The Urban Tree Challenge Fund, spearheaded by the Forestry Commission, aims to support the planting of more than 130,000 trees in towns and cities across England.

Robert Largan, MP for High Peak, said: “Earlier this year, I welcomed the £640 million for the Nature for Climate Fund in the Budget.“Building on this progress, the Urban Tree Challenge Fund is a really worthwhile scheme. I would encourage local groups and individuals h ere in the High Peak to get involved.”
