In the comical footage - 40 different members each record a line from the classic feel-good tune dressed in wacky Christmas outfits.

Emma Lomax, wife of New Bodies owner Andrew Lomax, rewrote the words to the song - reflecting the fondness gym bunnies all over Buxton have for the gym.

Lines sung by those taking part include ‘I will lunge 500 miles’, ‘I know you’re gonna be the gym that makes it fun for me’ and ‘you’re gonna be the gym that makes it clean for me’ - a reference to the studio’s strict Covid-19 cleaning procedures.

So far the funny video has been shared over 150 times and liked nearly 300 times by visitors to New Bodies’ Facebook page.

The video has been launched as a fundraising campaign for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital - where poorly Buxton tot Molly Corthorn spent her first Christmas.

Molly’s parents - both New Bodies members - were told by doctors she had a 30 per cent chance of survival at birth.

Little battler Molly was found to have fluid on her brain and a hernia causing pressure on her heart and lungs during mum Kimberley’s pregnancy.

The tot miraculously pulled through and even though distraught Kimberley and dad Dan were told she may never walk and talk she is now a ‘happy and chatty’ little girl.

Emma told how the idea for the video came about while she was singing along to the well-known Scottish anthem while unloading the dishwasher.

She said: “I was just playing around with words but then we thought it would be a laugh if we got others involved - then it just grew.

“So many people have got involved during lockdown we ended up editing all the selfie videos together.”

Since the second lockdown New Bodies have been running between 5-6 fitness classes a day on Zoom.

Emma said: “Sometimes members meet up on Zoom just for a chat - lots of them live alone and it’s a really lonely time.”
