Author in search of women who attended Beatles’ Pavilion Gardens 1963 shows
An author is asking women who saw the ‘Fab Four’ play at Pavilion Gardens Ballroom during the height of Beatlemania to come forward with stories of the 1963 shows.
Eddi Fiegel is writing a book documenting not only women’s recollections of seeing the group but their own individual stories.
Author Eddi - who admitted being ‘fascinated’ by the women who queued for hours to see the Merseyside band - told how she wanted to hear accounts of how the women came to be at the shows.
She said: “We’re all so used to seeing these pictures of screaming, hysterical women but when we see them we think of them as a phenomenon.

“I’d like to know their back stories - whether they told their parents they were sleeping over at a friend's house, whether they skived off school to be there or whether they saved for weeks to afford a ticket.”
Some 2,500 fans attended the Pavilion show - with police struggling to control the crowd.
Young girls were seen fainting and being carried off by St John Ambulance staff on the night of the memorable gig.

Eddi - author of highly-acclaimed biographies of Mama Cass Elliot and film composer John Barry - told how this period in the 1960s marked a huge social change in society.
She added: “This generation of women is particularly interesting.”
As well as the October show Eddi is keen to hear from anyone who attended the April show of the same year.
