The open day is on from 9.30am to 6.30pm at the AMRC Training Centre at the Advanced Manufacturing Park, off Highfield Spring, Catcliffe, Rotherham. To book a place contact Vicky Cardwell Sung on 0114 2224445 or [email protected]

AMRC Training Centre programme manager Dan Swift said: "By holding a recruitment event in March it enables young people who perhaps now realise that the further education path they have chosen doesn't suit their style of learning and would now like to consider an alternative education route.

"We work with a large number of companies of varying sizes and recruiting traditional academic time frame isn’t right for all of them."

The employer-led apprenticeships offered via the AMRC Training Centre which commence in March cover subject disciplines in areas such as mechanical maintenance, design, welding, machining and electrical maintenance which could lead on to further university studies.

Dan added: "An apprenticeship via the AMRC Training Centre enables young people to climb up the academic ladder and earn while they learn without the burden of student debt while gaining valuable on the job experience within the engineering/manufacturing sector."
