NATIONAL: Sir Terry Wogan dies aged 77

National treasure Sir Terry Wogan had died aged 77, his family have confirmed.

The popular broadcaster died today after a short battle with cancer.

In a statement, they said: “He passed away surrounded by family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”

Sir Terry had a career spanning 50 years in television and radio including voicing Eurovision and Children in Need.
