George Bloor, 23, has been impressing on the junior and amateur circuits for several years and is now aiming to make it on the European and eventually the world stage.

And George, who began playing golf at the age of 13, says he can’t wait to begin competing.

He said: “I’ve been playing golf full-time for three or for years now so my routine won’t change too much, but obviously now I’m doing it for a living and hoping to progress as high as I can in the game.

“I’ve had a lot of success as an amateur and was in the top 400 in the world as well as number seven in England. I’ve also been part of the England team for the last couple of years which was a great experience, but I can no longer compete with them given I’m a pro.

“I’ve been competing around Europe on the amateur circuit for the last three years which has given me great experience, and I’m now ready to push on to the next level.”

George, who cites Tiger Woods as his main inspiration, is a member of Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club and also Cavendish Golf Club in Buxton, for whom he is an ambassador.

And his aims are clear for the near future. He said: “I’ll be playing through the winter and at the Algarve Tour a the start of 2019, before then going on the EuroPro Tour with the aim of getting a European Tour card in September.”

George has a number of sponsorship packages available for businesses or individuals who may wish to aid in his development.
