Police investigation continues after armed officers called to Buxton home

Derbyshire Constabulary are investigating an isolated incident in Buxton, after armed police were called to an address in the early hours of this morning.

Officers attended an address in Fairfield Road at around 7.30am today (January 7) following reports of a disturbance and there were reports of armed police at a block of flats, near the Tikka Villa takeaway.

A member of the public also claimed that Lightwood Road was blocked and armed officers were also in The Wye Bridge House car park in the early hours of this morning.

Derbyshire Constabulary have confirmed the disturbance was an isolated incident and investigation has began to understand exactly what happened in Buxton.

In a statement, the force said said: “Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at an address in Fairfield Road at around 7.30am today.

“Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing to understand the circumstances of this isolated incident.”
