Buxton man attacked by youths after Christmas night out

Police said they were called to the incident on Dale Road at 2.40am on Sunday.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "A man was walking along the road when there was a verbal confrontation between him and a group of four youths. He says they were aged 14 or 15.

"They punched him in the face then ran off.

"The victim went to hospital with bruising and cuts to his face and has now been released.

"Police are investigating and urge witnesses or anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 16000420817."
