Severn Trent invites residents in Chapel-en-le-Frith to find out about upgrade work in their area

Severn Trent is hosting a community drop-in session for residents in Chapel-en-le-Frith this week, where they can hear about plans for new water pipes in their area.

The water company is laying over a mile of new pipes along Hayfield Road, as part of a £300,000 investment to improve the water supply and plans to meet with local residents to answer any questions or concerns.

Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “To ensure residents have a reliable water supply for many years to come, and to reduce the number of leaks and bursts in the area, we need to install new water pipes along Hayfield Road.

“We understand this can cause disruption for some of our customers, which is why we’re hosting a drop-in session this week, so we can update residents, show them our plans and answer any questions they may have.”

The team from Severn Trent will be at Chapel Town Hall, Market Street, Chapel-en-le-Frith, SK23 0HP on Tuesday 21 January between 3pm and 6pm.

Severn Trent is the UK’s second biggest water company. It serves 4.4m homes and business customers in England and Wales. Its region stretches from mid-Wales to Rutland and from north and mid-Wales south to the Bristol Channel and east to the Humber. The company delivers almost two billion litres of water every day through 49,000km of pipes. A further 94,000km of sewer pipes take waste water away to more than 1,000 sewage treatment works.
