Young cast performs Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies in Buxton

Young actors of the High Peak will be journeying into the depths of Sherwood Forest for a toe-tickling tale of tights, fights and footlights!

Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies, a musical comedy, will be performed by Buxton Opera House’s Young Company next month.

The cast aged 5 to 11 will tell the story of what happens when the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and his gormless guards threaten the villagers of Sherwood whose only hope is Robin and his Merry Men.

Hired by Maid Marian, the outlaws go on a side-splitting, action-packed adventure to defeat the dastardly Sheriff, storm Nottingham Castle and overthrow King John.

With a score of catchy songs and a witty script as sharp as an arrow, the show is set to send audiences all a-quiver!

Joanne Eltringham, Buxton Opera House Young Company Learning and Participation Officer , said: ‘This is the first time we have teamed up our Mini Young Performers (5-7year olds) with our Young Performers (8-11 year olds) and I am delighted with the enthusiasm, dedication and the level of team work displayed by all our young people.”
