Comedy king Kenshares happiness

While the audience was largely grey attendees there was also younger ones. I have never seen Ken live before so I arrived with great anticipation. The King of comedy (now in his late 80s) began with his famous one-liners and jokes, saying it was: '˜Wonderful to be in Buxton but then it was good to be anywhere at my age!' There were many old jokes and comic tales revisited as well as several new jokes. We were of course treated to the tickling stick! His famous run-in with the Inland Revenue was a hugely comical topic and the audience lapped up his stories and jokes.Ken wasn't on stage for the entire time there were a couple of interludes; the first being the multi instrumentalists Andante.Jokes about farmers and the length of the show (It did famously go on quite late!) amused all. The audience was delighted by the bringing out of ventriloquist dummy Dickie Mint.Despite Ken's advanced years and frequent coughing he still has a very fine voice. His truly joyful signature tune, '˜Happiness' was sung with genuine warmth. A glorious evening of entertainment,
