Still time to enter annual 5k road race

Tideswell Running Club is staging its annual Inter Inns 5k road race this coming Monday (June 23).

Starting at 7pm, the race sets off from the Star Inn in Tideswell.

The route of the race sees competitors heading out of the village along the main road,

It then turns right before The Anchor, down into Litton before turning around at The Red Lion and returning along the same route and finishing at the Horse and Jockey.

Entry fee for the race is £5 with runners able to register on the night from 6-6.45pm.

There is a maximum entry of 100 runners.

The race takes place every year, during Tideswell Wakes Week and prizes are given out to the runners that finish first, second and third, as well as the first local (either from Tideswell or Litton).

Last year’s race was won by Angus Malcolm (unattached) with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds.

Tideswell RC member Helen Grainger was second, with a time of 20:26.
