Hitmen face testing trip to defending champions on opening day

The 2014 campaign will see a number of team changes, with two new sides entering the third tier of British speedway and one withdrawing.

Devon Demons are new entrants along with Scunthorpe who return to the competition under the name of Scunthorpe Stags.

Defending champions Dudley are also back to defend their crown, but under their original name of Cradley.

Isle of Wight Islanders will not be competing this season, after electing to withdraw.

Buxton’s first meeting of the season sees them make the daunting trip to champions Cradley on April 29, five days before their first home meeting against Stoke.
