Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’ — Sunday December 16

Weather permitting, a wide selection of meetings to choose from today. Here is the daily fancy of our resident tipster, Scoop Racing:

Sunday December 16

LORD WISHES

Musselburgh 12.20 WIN

Punters would not hear of defeat when up-and-coming trainer James Ewart saddled this well-regarded five-year-old for his hurdling debut at Newcastle earlier this month. So it was disappointing to see the well-bred son of Milan beaten. But in essence, he did little wrong and simply caught a tartar in Donald McCain’s race-fit winner, who quickened clear from the second last flight. Ewart’s charge, whom he describes as “a quality horse capable of making a name for himself”, still finished clear of the rest and can gain ample compensation today when the step-up in trip to 2m4f is expected to suit.
