The move follows the decision by current boss Darryl Hall to take a backseat at the Horwich Park club after 14 successful seasons, which culminated earlier this year with the team finishing third in the Cheshire Football League Division One.

Chairman Steve Rampley said: “Darryl will move onto the club’s committee and will be on hand to help the new management team if required, but obviously we now need to restructure as soon as possible in readiness for next season.

“We are now looking to recruit a person(s) to either head-up a management team or be part of the management team - we consider two or preferably three people to be the best solution and that could well include Darryl’s current assistant Jon Brogden, depending on the number and quality of applicants.”

Whaley Bridge Reserve’s management team of Dan Turner, Paul Barnet and Dean Campbell remains unchanged.

Anyone wishing to apply for the management vacancy should contact Steve, Darryl or Jon through the contacts page on the Whaley Bridge AFC website www.whaleybridgefc.co.uk.
