England manager Roy Hodgson says Raheem Sterling must develop “a thicker skin” following his side’s 0-0 draw in Dublin against Ireland.

Raheem Sterling’s Liverpool future has dominated the back pages in recent weeks and he was repeatedly booed by a section of the Irish fans during the game.

The game itself was a massive disappointment, however. England and Ireland were using the game to prepare for their Euro 2016 qualifiers next week but it was almost totally devoid of the intensity they can expect in those competitive encounters.
