There were jubilant scenes at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium this afternoon as Buxton FC beat Matlock Town 1-0 to all but seal the league title.

With closest rivals South Shields losing 2-3 at home to Whitby Town Buxton’s victory means they have all but secured promotion from the Northern Premier League. The Bucks now need just one point in Saturday’s final game at Stalybridge Celtic to officially become league champions.
