HALF-TIME: Ipswich Town 2-0 Buxton

Hard to be critical of Buxton really - they’re simply being dominated by a side who are flying high in a league three levels above - if anything the Bucks deserve credit for how they have defended really well at times but the pressure has eventually told and the hosts now will be expected to go on and get more.

Buxton do have some good firepower on the bench including Diego De Girolamo, Jason Gilchrist and Scott Boden who may feature if they want to have a bit of a go at it in the second-half.

37’ GOAL FOR IPSWICH

And that’s why...Gassan Ahadme turns the ball in after good work from Kyle Edwards who chipped the keeper and Ahadme was there on the line to bundle it in. An uphill challenge became a mountainous one for Buxton.

2-0

Good chance for Buxton to get the ball into the box as they win a free-kick out on the left touchline, but Connor Kirby’s delivery is straight onto the head of Richard Keogh and the hosts clear. Need to make the most of openings like that.

1-0

Buxton had shown one or two signs of positivity prior to the goal, Sam Osborne looking their most lively threat, but the hosts have controlled things from the off and deserve their lead.

33’ - GOAL FOR IPSWICH

Had been coming - a ball into the box finds Conor Chaplin 12 yards out and he shoots low into the net.

1-0

Close from the hosts, as a corner is cleared to Cameron Humphreys on the edge of the box and his shot grazes the top of the crossbar.

0-0

Another Buxton booking, this time for Jack McKay due to a combination of blocking a free-kick and some backchat.

0-0

Reasonable bit of possession for the Bucks in the final third, which is notable due to its rarity so far, but after Osborne beats his man and gets a cross over the hosts clear.

They now have a free-kick just inside the Ipswich half as Leif Davis is booked for a foul

0-0

Yellow card for Shaun Brisley who is the latest Bucks player to commit a foul, and there have been a few.

Ipswich must have had about 90 per cent of the possession here so far but have only seriously threatened the goal once or twice.

0-0

Lots of crosses finding their way into the Bucks box early on but, by and large, they’ve been defended well, albeit at the expense of a few corners.
