Hope Valley League schedule decimated
The Premier Division saw four games go ahead and Dove Holes made the most of title rivals Peak Dale and Bradwell not being in action.
The duo’s respective matches were called off, and Dove capitalised by thrashing AFC Dronfield Woodhouse 7-0 away from home.
Holmesfield, with just one reverse all season, also ran in with a 7-0 victory, after overcoming Dronfield Woodhouse at home to move within eight points of Dove Holes, but crucially with two games in hand.
Elsewhere in the top tier, Tideswell United picked up a welcome 2-0 success at Brampton, whilst Hunters Bar’s 2-1 win at Furness Vale edges them further away from the two relegation spots.
• In the A Division, Ashover leapfrogged Buxworth and Buxton Town to go top of the table.
They thrashed Cote Heath 5-2 at home as they moved on to 36 points.
All other games were washed out, with the all-Tideswell affair between Blue Star and FC United postponed.
• It was the same story for the B Division, with just a solitary game going ahead.
Stoney Middleton hosted struggling Winster FC with the hosts coming out on top in a close-fought game,.
They prevailed 3-2 to seal their seventh win of the campaign.
