Warren Clarke put the Bucks into a fourth-minute lead before Trinity struck back to take a 3-1 advantage into the interval, assisted by the blowing cross-winds at tarmac Silverlands Stadium.

But the home side were level inside seven second-half minutes through new signing Matthias Curley's well-struck volley on 46 and goal machine Diego De Girolamo's poacher's finish from 10 yards out.

Trinity, seven points clear at the top of a two months' form table, came looking to extend a 10-match unbeaten run and did so in a richly entertaining game.

The very strong corner-to-corner wind blowing from the Railway End had a major impact, with only one of the six goals scored by a team facing it, but it added to rather than detracting from the spectacle as it created challenges for the players they mostly overcame.

Buxton arguably narrowly shaded the proceedings and deserve much credit for erasing a two-goal interval deficit.

Furthermore, it was the Bucks who suffered most from the wind's capricious nature as Trinity's third goal can only be described as freakish.

Home manager, Gary Hayward, could also be pleased with his two most recent acquisitions.

Attacking midfielder Jordan Nicholson, on home debut, laid on his team's early goal and played a major part in the third, while debutant right-back Curley, newly-signed from Hednesford, produced an accurate,10-yard volley to make it 2-3 before Diego pounced.
