McIntosh has been busy bolstering the squad during the off-season, with six more players committing in the past week alone.

Ex-Bradford City man Leon Osborne and former Leicester City midfielder Craig King joined two players from last season, Mark Reed and Jamie Green, in agreeing fresh terms.

The academy duo of midfielder Zac Heywood and goalkeeper John Stanway have also put pen to paper.

McIntosh says the signing of winger Osborne in particular is one that delighted him.

He said: “Leon’s been at Bradford and played a lot of football in League Two.

“The move was ideal for both parties and he’s been looking good and sharp so far.

“He can play on the left or right and also up front, which is where I think his pace and finishing will help us most.

“He offers me flexibility and I’m delighted we’ve been able to sign him up.”

McIntosh said he was also delighted to snap up former Leicester City and Scotland under-19 player King.

He added: “Craig is somebody I have tried to sign before when I was at Worksop, so I’m delighted to have brought him in.

“I’m happy with the signings I’ve been able to bring in this summer and now I want to strengthen the defence.

“I’m looking for another centre-back because I know I need three over the course of the season.”
