Martin’s 81 and Eyre’s three wickets seal Hadfield derby win

In Division Three, Hadfield made 250-8 at home to Dove Holes with Lee Martin hitting 81 and G Winterbottom 43 while Jonty Norton took 3-59.

M Turner then hit 60 and M Vernon 39 but 3-72 from Chris Eyre helped Hadfied restrict their visitors to 229-7.

Hawk Green elected to bat at home to Hazel Grove and smashed their way to 312-3 with J Butler (90 not out) and Sam Clarke (100 not out) both starring.

Hazel Grove were never in the chase, but 44 from Lewis Rodgers helped his side limp to 175-9.

Newton saw S Morris make 85 in their total of 194-9 against Tintwistle who were reduced to just 122 all out.

Mottram batted first at home to New Mills and raced to 279-5, Pete Broscombe top-scored with 87. In reply Ben Boardman hit 62 but saw his team bowled out for 183.

Dinting’s Sam Elliott finished 72 not out in a total of 198-9 against Hayfield, who fell agonisingly short on 191-8.

In Division Four, Buxworth batted first at Birch Vale and were bowled out for 161, Aaron Benstead hitting 67 before they then dismissed the hosts for just 59.

Charlesworth batted first at Whaley Bridge and finished 161 all out, O Edge making 57 for the visitors.

The home bowlers S Marren (6-27) and A Dale (4-15) then bowled Whaley Bridge out for just 71.

Compstall made 196-6 at leaders Broadbottom, Callum Abbott starring with 42.

D Robinson then made 30 and B McManus 37 not out but 4-30 from John Abbott saw the visitors restricted to 173-8.

High Lane travelled to Buxton and were bowled out for 139, Nav Ahmed making 40. In reply Buxton eased to victory as H Griffin hit 36 in a total of 140-4.

Hollingworth finished 198 all out at home to Chapel with J Miller hitting a magnificent 104 not out before Chapel finished on 181-3.
