Wayne Madsen’s men head into Thursday’s fixture at The 3aaa County Ground still in the hunt for a last-eight spot.

The Falcons need to beat Gloucestershire - and for Leicestershire to slip-up versus Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford – in order to progress.

Elite Performance Director Graeme Welch said: “There’s no question that this is a massive game for us. To reach the quarter-finals would be a really good achievement.

“Gloucestershire have already qualified and will be aiming for a home quarter-final, so it’s a real challenge for us.

“The lads have played some good cricket to put us in this position. Now we have to finish the job on Thursday.”

And Welch wants fans to do their bit to help spur on the side.

“Hopefully supporters will turn up in real numbers and get behind us,” he added. “That would be a boost for the lads and a great advert for the club with the game being televised on SKY.”

Thursday’s match at The 3aaa County Ground starts at 2pm. For tickets, call 0871 350 1870 or visit www.derbyshireccc.com.
