The increase reflects the membership early-bird initiative, which offered supporters a saving of £15 if they bought their members’ tickets before the start of February. Sales of six-pack tickets, for use on any six home days of action during 2016, have also risen, while the number of members who have introduced someone new to the club has also seen an increase.

Commercial director Ryan Duckett said: “We are really grateful for the response of members who continue to support what we are doing here at Derbyshire. While the numbers of members is slightly down on last year, six-pack ticket buyers are up by 7%. We have also been encouraged by the rise in the number of members who have taken part in our ambassador scheme, allowing them to claim £50 cash back by introducing someone new to the club.

“The support of our valued members will help the club to continue its investment in the playing squad, which has already seen the signings of New Zealand international batsmen Hamish Rutherford and Neil Broom and the captures of bowlers Andy Carter and Tom Milnes.”
