Chapel Riding Club hails first event of the year

Chapel and District Riding Club experienced a great turnout for their first show of the year, earlier this month.

The Winter Woolies event took place at Adlington Equestrian Centre on February 2.

A spokesperson from the club says that the event was a great way to mark the start of the new year.

They said: “Despite the recent poor weather, the day was comparatively fine, which was a real bonus.

Seniors and Juniors alike had gone to a great effort to get their horses and ponies clean and well turned out for the event.

“Classes had a high number of entrants and at one point the indoor school was full.

“Thanks to the steady judging by Mrs Linda Miller, the day was completed without any mishaps.

“As ever at Chapel shows, there was something for everyone and it was a good learning experience for some of the less proficient ponies and riders.

“In both the junior and senior classes, standards were high and tough decisions had to be made, especially for the Championships.

“All winners were delighted with their rosettes, and sashes for the Champions.”

A full run-down of results from the tournament, can be seen by visiting the club’s website at www.cadrc.org.uk.
