Here's when the Champions League draw takes place and how to watch it

The draw for the final rounds of the Champions League will be made shortly, giving the remaining sides a glimpse as their potential path to glory.

With the second legs of the round of 16 games still to be played and minnows like Atlanta still very much in the mix, there’s the potential for some upsets.

However, it looks increasingly like the final stages of this year’s contest will be dominated by the teams we’ve grown used to seeing in the latter part of the Champions League.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Who is still in the competition?

The round of 16 games have each completed their first legs, with the re-matches set for the next two weeks.

The fixtures are as follows:Tuesday 10 March - RB Leipzig v Tottenham (1-0)Tuesday 10 March - Valencia v Atlanta (1-4)Wednesday 11 March - PSG v Dortmund (1-2)Wednesday 11 March - Liverpool v Atletico Madrid (0-1)Tuesday 17 March - Manchester City v Real Madrid (2-1)Tuesday 17 March - Juventus v Lyon (0-1)Wednesday 18 March - Barcelona v Napoli (1-1)Wednesday 18 March - Bayern v Chelsea (3-0)Kick-off for each of these games is scheduled to take place at 8pm.

When is the quarter-final draw?

The draw for the quarter finals and beyond will take place in Nyon, Switzerland at 11am on Friday 20 March.

Unlike the previous rounds, there will be no seedings for the draw – meaning each team has an equal chance of facing any other team, regardless of their respective rankings or past performances.

Similarly, there will be no country protection in play this time around – so clubs from the same nation can be drawn against one another.

Each team will learn not only their opposition for the quarter final but the bracket they have been placed into for the semi-final, should they make it through – i.e. the winners of quarter-final A will play the winners of quarter-final B, and the winners of C will play D.

The full draw will be broadcast live over the UEFA Champions League website.

The Champions League draw will be followed directly by the draw for the final rounds of the Europa League. It is scheduled to begin at 12pm and will be broadcast live from the UEFA Europa League page.
