Here's when Fatboy Slim is playing a free concert for healthcare workers - and how to get tickets

Fatboy Slim – aka Norman Cook – has announced a special free concert in his home town of Brighton.

The gig has been set up to honour the work of the staff of the NHS, ambulance and police workers.

Speaking from his home, Norman said: “Recently, friends of mine who work in the NHS asked me to send a little video message to thank and cheer on the frontline troops and in it I, (half) jokingly said, we should all have a big party together when this is all over’.

“Careful what you wish for, as so many people responded to the comment, I thought, ‘why not?’

Slim joins artists like Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher in announcing big, free gigs to celebrate those working on the frontline against coronavirus.

“I extend an invitation to all NHS doctors, nurses, support workers, porters and cleaners plus all blue light staff, ambulance, police and fire service (and importantly to their plus ones) to let their hair down with me and dance off the cobwebs to rejoice in the end of this emergency.”

When is the free gig?

“By the time life returns to normal we will all want to celebrate together,” said Cook, 2and I would like to do my bit to reward and thank everyone who has been holding our lives together in these most difficult of times”.

The gig will take place on Wednesday 28 October at Brighton’s largest venue – the Brighton Centre.

Who is eligible for tickets?

Those eligible for tickets will be all NHS staff and a uxiliary staff that work within NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom and Emergency Services including, but not limited to doctors, nurses, support workers, porters, cleaners, ambulance, fire and police Services.

Any staff that work within the hospital or frontline services will be eligible to apply for tickets.

Eligible NHS & frontline staff members are entitled to bring one guest with them but will need two tickets (one for them and one for their guest).

How can I get tickets?

Tickets will be available from 7pm on Friday 17 April 2020 through Ticketmaster.

Ticket applications must only be made by the NHS or frontline member of staff who must bring their valid NHS or Primary Care Trust I.D card or staff I.D. Card (original format, no photocopies) to the show, as ticket checks will be in operation.

All tickets will carry the name of the person who made the booking, and this must match the name that is on the I.D card or admission will be refused.

The guest of the eligible staff member will need to be present and enter the venue at the same time.

Tickets will be limited to two per person (eligible NHS or Frontline staff members and one guest).

If you secure tickets and find that you are unable to attend, please contact the ticket provider to arrange cancellation of these tickets, to enable the tickets to be available to other eligible staff.
