As restrictions are still in place for events for large gatherings of people, Six the Musical has organised a way for the public to still enjoy the musical production.

This is everything you need to know - from when tickets go on sale to how the performance will be set up.

What is Six the Musical about?

Six the Musical showcases the story of the six wives of Henry VIII as they take to the mic to tell their tales.

It’s a modern retelling of their lives presented in the setting of a pop concert - the wives take turns singing and telling their story, discussing who suffered the most due to Henry and who should therefore be the group’s lead singer.

The wives perform in the order that they were married to Henry, so the order of performances goes:

  • Catherine of Aragon
  • Anne Boleyn
  • Jane Seymour
  • Anne of Cleves
  • Catherine Howard
  • Catherine Parr

The musical first debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017 by Cambridge University students, who have since taken the musical to professional productions in the West End and internationally.

How are the performances taking place?

With the coronavirus cancelling all events with large scale gatherings, like concerts, sporting events and more, you might be wondering how this performance is going ahead.

Six the Musical will be performed in a Drive-In setting - you will drive to the venue and have a dedicated area where you can park your car. Within this area, which will be marked off, you can get out of your car and sit or stand to watch the performance.

You can bring your own folding seats to sit on in your area as well, but you cannot pass items into other peoples areas.

The show will be performed live from start to finish with full choreography, costumes and musicians. The duration of the show is 75 minutes and there is not an interval.
