Y Not Festival organisers thank fans and artists

Organisers of Derbyshire's Y Not Festival have thanked everyone who helped make this year's event a success.

The festival, which took place at Pikehall at the weekend, saw thousands of music fans enjoy performances from acts including The Libertines, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Kaiser Chiefs and the Manic Street Preachers.

This year's event took place on a new site, and with a series of amendments, after bad weather last year caused numerous problems and left the site as a mudbath.

The weather did cause some issues this year with strong winds causing some problems on Saturday on the site, and Jamiroquai decided to cut their headline performance short on Sunday night after a break caused by the weather, but the festival otherwise went ahead largely as planned.

Event organiser Iain Game said: "We thank all the fans and artists for making Y Not 2018 such a special weekend.

"The changes put in place this year made sure the event went ahead as smoothly as possible, despite the weather.

"We witnessed some incredible performances, with a wonderful atmosphere and we are already excited about 2019."

As well as music across a number of different stages, festival goers were able to take in some comedy, visit the cinema, enjoy the fairground rides or browse the wide range of stalls.
