Woman airlifted to hospital after Glossop crash

A 26-year-old woman was airlifted to hopsital after being cut out of a car crash near Glossop on Sunday.

The two-car collision occurred on the A628 Woodhead Pass at about 3.45pm.

Four people who were travelling in a Hyundai Amica were injured in the incident.

Two casualties were extricated from the vehicle by Glossop and Stalybridge fire crews.

The driver, from Stockport, was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester with abdominal injuries by air ambulance. She was discharged on Monday.

The three passengers were taken to Salford Royal Hospital with minor injuries and were discharged on the day.

The driver of the black Volvo was uninjured.

The road was reopened by police at 9.10pm.
