Wet start to the day but sunny spells this afternoon

The rain will clear by the afternoon though, with drier weather with sunny spells reaching all parts by early afternoon. The odd wintry shower cannot be ruled out over the Derbyshire hills later in the day. The maximum temperature will be seven degrees centigrade.

Tonight, apart from the odd wintry shower continuing over the Derbyshire hills, most parts will be dry with clear spells, leading to a slight frost by Friday morning. The minimum temperature will be one degree centigrade.

A yellow warning of ice has been issued for Derbyshire which is valid from 4pm today to 10am tomorrow morning.
