VIDEO: Awesome military spectacle returning to Buxton’s Devonshire Dome
Presented by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the acclaimed showcase will feature a whole new 200-strong cast of regular and reservist bands on Saturday July 4.
Event Manager Chris Thornton said over £62,000 had been raised for the charity since the event started in 2010.
“We are delighted that the Buxton Military Tattoo is returning for the sixth year and welcome our local audience and the many visitors who are coming from all across the country to support the event,” he added.
“We strive to present a varied show with high standards of performance and I am sure that the audience will again enjoy the quality and versatility of all our performers.”
Heading this year’s line-up is The Band of The King’s Division, supported by The Band of The Royal Armoured Corps, while the pipes and drums of The Royal Dragoon Guards will be making their first appearance at Buxton.
Cadets from 2517 (Buxton) Squadron RAF Air Cadets will present a new display by their Corps of Drums.
The matinee Tattoo performance will be held at 2pm, with the evening show starting at 6.30pm.
Both will include a spectacular Massed Bands Finale and also the Lone Piper’s lament, but the emotive Sunset Ceremony with “Evening Hymn” only takes place during the evening show.
