Two men die after M1 plane crash
Two men have died after a plane crashed near the M1 yesterday.
Eyewitnesses said the light aircraft swerved to avoid traffic on the motorway before coming down in a field between junctions 27 (Hucknall) and junctions 26 (Nottingham) at about 1.30pm.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire police said there were only two people on board the plane.
Inspectors from the Air Accident Investigation Branch are probing the incident.
