Four major roads closed in Derbyshire and the Peak District closed due to ‘heavy snowfall’
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The A57 Snake Pass, A537 Cat & Fiddle, A53 Leek Road and A6024 Holme Moss were all closed, according to the council’s update at 6.40am this morning (February 27).
All the roads have now reopened.
A spokesperson for the council said that the roads were closed “due to heavy snow making the routes impassable.”

At the time, they added: “We're working to clear these roads and reopen them as soon as possible.
“Please drive with care as we continue to see some heavy snow showers particularly in the north of the county.”
It is not known when the roads will reopen and drivers are advised to avoid the roads unless absolutely necessary.
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice was in place for Derbyshire (February 27).
