All the equipment the volunteer had in his possession was taken, including his team radio, waterproof jackets, helmets, fleeces, protection googles and other gear, worth upwards of £1,500.

Team spokesperson Darren Hunt told us: "The incident occurred at the team member's address in Whaley Bridge

All the personal equipment that the member requires to attend rescues has been taken, so his ability to attend any call-outs has been removed.

All the equipment that was taken has our logo on, and will be easily recognisable.

"The whole team's equipment is purchased thanks to donations from the general public, so we are are asking people to keep an eye out for any kit that they recognise, as this volunteer will be out of action for the foreseeable future until the equipment is found or replaced."
