Thieves smash into Derbyshire home and take valuables

Thieves made off with a haul of jewellery and electrical goods after breaking into a Derbyshire home.

Offenders smashed the kitchen window of a property along Mill Lane, Hathersage, before climbing in and carrying out an untidy search of the home.

They made off with a haul of high value electricals, including an Apple MacBook Air, Apple MacBook Pro, a Hewlett Packard laptop and an Apple iPhone SE.

A selection of jewellery was also stolen, including pearl and jewelled earrings, a stone set necklace, a pearl necklace and an animal pendent.

Officers are appealing to residents who may have seen a man in the area who was described as in his early 20s, of slim build and around 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, with short dark hair.

He was believed to have been wearing a black jacket.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
