Sometime between Monday, February 27 and Thursday, March 2, a large stone Buddha ornament, believed to be rare, was stolen from the front garden of a property on Lathkill Grove, Buxton.

Another large Buddha statue was stolen from the front garden of a property on Kings Road in Fairfield over the same timeframe.

Officers from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team are appealing to anyone with information about the thefts or the whereabouts of the ornaments to contact them.

They are particularly interested in hearing from residents in the area who may have seen a white transit van with a psychedelic pattern painted on the side, believed to be collecting scrap.
