Jimmy Hyland and Jamie Fisher had to call on the services of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team after they fell and injured themselves while climbing at The Roaches in 2012.

As a thank-you, the pair have twice taken part in the Matlock to Cromford Boxing Day raft race, raising a total of £2,390 in sponsorship.

Buxton MRT chairman Richard Doran, pictured receiving a cheque for the latest donation of £322, said: “It is great that both boys made a very successful recovery from their ordeal in 2012 and the fact they have gone on to raise so much money for the team in way of thanks is a remarkable testament to their character.”
